Lapys

cute, cursed & handmade

LAPYS is a solo studio crafting small, emotionally resonant games with strong visual identity and tightly integrated design. Every project is handmade — from code to character art — with a focus on mood, replayability, and narrative tone.
Hi, I’m Larissa Pychlau — the developer, designer, and illustrator behind LAPYS, a solo studio crafting cozy, character-driven games with a handmade charm and a little chaos under the hood.

Handmade across disciplines from gameplay logic to custom UI and hand-drawn visuals
Systems with emotional weight branching stories, stat-driven interactions, reactive dialogue
Cohesive creative vision aligning art direction, tone, and structure across mediums

About the studio

Developer · Designer · Illustrator · Monster NPC Whisperer

I work across game design, illustration, UI, and photography, with a passion for building experiences where visuals, systems, and story all speak the same emotional language.
With a background in software engineering and visual design, I build almost every part of my games — from logic systems and pixel art to narrative and UI — infusing each world with warmth, intention, and a love for the strange and memorable.
